Pitwo would review the sound of old techno and house tracks mixed with more actual tunes. Music focused on the dance floor and covered with the colors coming out of the four floodlights installed for the event tonight and used by PerlssDj to dump the images that would close the event.

This was the showcase of Rawmatroid: a night full of good spirit and music made with conviction.

On the occasion of Rawmatroid Netlabel 2th anniversary celebration and the release of its conmemorative compilation “Rawmatroid Puzzle For Art’s Sake” on June 12 the Netlabel bring together some of the members of this VA album in 2 lives and 2 dj sets that they will also have the participation of 3 visual artists.

The chosen city for the presentation of this Rawmatroid Showcase 2010 will be A Coruña, and Fanzine Club (C / Atocha Alta 40), reference to the current Galician scene, will be the host club of the event in the early hours of Saturday to Sunday June 12.

Kebiin will be in charge of inaugurating the line-up with his live in which ambients, glitch and dub will be mixed to reinterpret tracks from his LP “Lonely Voyage To Nowhere LP” [rwclass003] and new tunes tyed by the musical personality that characterizes the artist, some of them future releases of the Netlabel as a second part of the album. The performance will be complemented with a visual set by Parasit: video and poetry rather emotional, told in minimalist key through touch control hardware.

Soon after will be Lefrenk’s turn: house surgeon in all its subgenres and with a fine and exquisite taste when producing and making live performances. PerlssDj will be his playing partner, and will provide, with samples and effects, his acid and multidisciplinary visual perspective.

Frances Lerouge will take over to offer us his dj set: feeling, emotion and melody for a music done with the heart and without many complexes.

The end of the Rawmatroid night will be Pitwo’s responsibility, a guarantee of good atmosphere and dancing. His style feeds from the old deep and house school but without letting the new tech trends pass by: dj set for the feet and head.

Mahoney will bring the event to a close with his recital of images both personal and creative bringing us for sure a night filled with Rawmatroid spirit and for art’s sake.

On July the 18th Rawmatroid presented a new showcase introducing new members and new references. The event took place at the galician club Fanzine a place where international producers/djs have passed such as Chymera, Todd Bodine, Ivan Smoka or Elmar Schubert, and others from national territory like Astroboyz, Suso Flores, Diego Villa, or the residents of the club Pablo Cubeiro and Roi.

For this night the netlabel (which alredy has 7 references in Club sublabel and 3 in its Class side in 1 year and 4 months of presence on the web) offered variety in the musical and visual line up. A live works as an opening for the celebration; the experimental sounds between dub techno and close to trance of Kebiin build up a riskier and unconventional live act. Personality and sound freedom with own signature.

The also galician Frances Lerouge took the relay with his dj set for the last 2 hours of the night. A first part starting playing with references Rawmatroid club and national productions, and which the melodies prevail (as in the rest of the set). The second part of the set, around 3:30, gradually gaining in strength to leave an emotional trance air as a remembrance of the showcase.

The visual complement was finally responsabililty of Parasit, due to last minute unforeseen prevented the incorporation of Mahoney. Two projectors were used as an artist’s imagination desktop and means the suitable added for an unforgetable meeting of quality and good atmosphere.

The next 18th of July (Saturday), Rawmatroid Netlabel will offer from 00h in the club Fanzine (A Coruña, Spain) a showcase where we will see and hear the latest label artists. Kebiin will open the evening, author of the album “Lonely Voyage to Nowhere“, the 3rd and latest reference of Rawmatroid Class, whom from 00 will provide a very personal and intense live.During the night could be heard the new references that will be released in autumn. About 1:30, Lefrenk, producer of the latest work in Rawmatroid “Seirênes“, will provide a live with his particular vision of the dance music concept, the same concept that has deserved an important position within the Club sublabel. Finally, the dj set by Frances Lerouge (“El Niño” [rwclub002] and “Estar en Casa” [rwclub006] ) will close the night, leaving a good taste to all attendees. Mahoney and Parasit will complete the event with two visual lives that will not remains indifferent to anybody.

Rawmatroid will remove its catalog from Last.fm after being announced the prepaid subscription of its streaming radio service.
Rawmatroid is a free netlabel that do not earn (and do not want to) any economic benefit by the free distribution of their music releases. That’s why, before March 30th, will no longer be available any reference that have been published up to date.

On Thursday the 14th of August at A Coruña the official presentation of the spanish Rawmatroid netlabel took place. With 5 releases already published in the last 5 months, their members wanted to present in public both, the published and the ones that will appear in the coming months in the netlabel catalogue. The chosen artists for this event were Kebiin, Frances Lerouge, James McConaghew and Pablo Honey, the three producers and the cover designer that participated in the second reference of Rawmatroid Club (”El niño” by Frances Lerouge). Each of them did an individual set.

Republica Sonora was responsable for the organization of the event. Well-known to bring to A Coruña djs and producers like Alexander Kowalski, Mike Shannon, Tadeo or Expander, they located the three members of Rawmatroid at the new Sala Fox, a club that represents electronic music in the Galician city.

James McConaghew was chosen to begin the party. Faithful to the predominantly melodic style that characterizes his productions, he offered a progressive-house set based on netlabels references, mixed up with live improvisations of rythmical effects and loops. One of the main tunes of James’s set was “El mejunje de la vida”, the newest tune by Boris Balkan, that will be released in september on Rawmatroid Club.

As James’s session went by its style was filled with more electronic sounds. He was preparing the crowd for the battery of rigid and forceful sounds that Kebiin kept in its laptop. At 3:30 am the last track from James was fused with the intro that Kebiin had arranged to initiate his live. The next hour was a constant succession of defined basses, powerful bases and rhythmic synths. Whether by the quality of its sound or by the production of its tunes, people enjoyed the dose of quality techno-minimal.

Exactly 60 minutes after Kebiin appeared at the decks, Frances Lerouge started his dj set. This last set was the perfect complement to the night that Rawmatroid had arranged, because it knew to combine the new tracks of Rawmatroid with other tunes known by the crowd. Among the pertaining ones to Rawmatroid catalogue it is possible to highlight “Irascible” by James McConaghew (rwclub001) or the advance of some of the tracks than will be in his next ep “Glisandos, letras e arranxos” and “Estar en casa”.

His set, dynamic and emotive, was gaining power with the course of the hours. I was near 7 am and the crowd that filled the club, was thankful to the 4 Rawmatroid artists because of the delivery and good “feeling” that had impregnated the atmosphere during the night.

Pablo Honey was the video jockey in charge of the visual part, developing a very personal and elaborated video live that contributed adding colorful and dynamism to the event.

The result; Rawmatroid already has in mind a new celebration although without a defined location.
